Where to run in Rancho Mirage (California)

The Butler-Abrams trail in Rancho Mirage is an asphalt trail that parallels the Whitewater Wash dipping down into and out of the wash to become then split on the other side into separate asphalt and sandy gravel trails. Here the double trail continues between a residential area and Morningside Country Club, offering some shadow and cool areas to runners who will also enjoy the smell of fresh cut grass from the golf course, along with fabulous views of the mountains. The trail starts at Frank Sinatra Drive near Wolfson Park and ends at Country Club Drive, one block north of Highway 111. Notwithstanding being near the highway, the trail is very quiet and one can hear the birds sing all the way. The total lenght of the Butler-Abrams trail is 1.39 miles and it is ideal for disabled athletes as well.
