Indianapolis
By IndyRunners.org - The Fall Creek Trail is a narrow asphalt path that runs along the creek. It is popular with families and many runners and skaters. The scenery is dominated by large trees and the trickle of the creek. The south end of the path is around 43rd street and it goes north to just past Emerson and 56th street. The course is 2.75 miles from end to end (including a 1/10 mile trek along the road on the north end to make up the difference). It is marked at 1/4 mile increments in white paint. The southern end even has the occasional portable toilet.
When in Indianapolis check out the Indy Runners, a volunteer, not-for-profit club that serves to promote running and walking as a healthy lifestyle activity and as a competitive sport. The club serves to meet the member needs by creating opportunities for group runs/walks, social functions, volunteer leadership, organized races, fitness education and communication between members. Indy Runners is a member of the Road Runners Club of America and has been around since 1978.
