Carondelet Park was purchased by the city in 1875. The park dedication took place on July 4, 1876, the hundredth anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It is a great place for walkers and runners alike. The majestic trees offer solace from the summer sun and borders Holly Hills one the nicest areas of St. Louis.
