Saint Louis

Tower Grove Park in South St. Louis has several miles of trail in varying states of repair. The trails wind through the park along the perimeter and into the interior. The trails seem to be being systematically repaired, as are the pavilions and other facilities in the park. The park was donated to the public along with the St. Louis Botanical Gardens by Henry Shaw, and is administered by a trust. The two properties were once Mr. Shaw's country estate. This park is a training staple for many of locals living in the area. Big River Racing Team members frequent this park occasionally as does the St. Louis University Cross Country and Track team. Tower Grove hill circuits are a favorite amongst many of the staff. Tower grove offers a great place to escape city streets and traffic. It also plays host to a number of road races and walks throughout the year. Directions: from I-44 exit at either Kingshighway or Grand and head south. The park is about a mile from the Interstate. Both east and west entrances have ample parking.
