By lirunning.com - There is a great run at Blydenburgh County Park in Hauppauge. I run it a lot with and without my dogs... it covers 5.5 miles and is scenic, quiet; usually find other runners or walkers, or horseback riders throughout the park. There is a parking fee between Memorial and Labor Days on weekends and holidays. But otherwise it is free to park. It has great trail running and a boardwalk for about one quarter of a mile or so... lovely streams, you can also run on the paved roads for a short while. Submitted by Pamela Schmidlin.
