Where to run in Reykjavik (Iceland)

By J. Leigh Walker - Some popular areas are the Tjörnin lake in the Laugardalur park, or try the Miklatun park. Tjörnin ("The pond") is a small lake in central Reykjavík. Although it is not among the biggest lakes in the country, it is one of the best known. Most runners jog along its shore, as it is situated in the city centre, next to the Reykjavik City Hall and several museums. Along with running and walking, Tjörnin has long been a favorite spot for bringing young children to see and feed the ducks, seagulls, swans and geese that reside there.
